Graphite based electrode modified with delithiated spinel Li1·0Cr0·05Mn1·95O4 for Li ion selective sensor

In this work, we introduced a highly selective and sensitive lithium ion sensor constituted of graphite electrode modified with a chromium doped spinel type manganese oxide (Li1·0Cr0·05Mn1·95O4). The metal ion doped spinel manganese oxide was synthesised by mechanochemical activation and characterised by XRD and SEM analysis. The sensor response to lithium ions was linear with a slope of 111 mV/decade over a wide pH 10 in Tris buffer and was linear in the concentration range 6·5×10−6–1·0×10−1 mol L−1 with a detection limit of 5·2×10−6 mol L−1.
