Design and Analysis of Resonant Inverter-Based Induction Heating Equipment

2021
This research work is based on the design and analysis of resonant high frequency inverter-based induction heating (IH) equipment and hysteresis control technique to attenuate the unwanted harmonics. The inverter topology discussed is a parallel combination of capacitor (C) and series combination of inductor (L) and resistor (R) are designed to obtain high frequency for the induction heating system. The high frequency current setup yields a significant amount of undesirable harmonics that have a natural tendency to flow back into the supply and deteriorate the overall power quality of the grid. Hence, a detailed analysis of the circuit topology and shunt active power filter (SAPF) design is carried out along with hysteresis controller technique to compensate the ill effects of harmonics. Thus, improving the power quality before being injected back into the supply.
