Electrodeposition and stripping at graphite cloth electrodes in a flow-through cell

1981
Abstract A flow-through cell for the continuous clean-up of Cu(II), Pb(II) and Cd(II) solutions by controlledpotential electrodeposition, accompanied by electrochemical monitoring of the metal ion concentration at a predetermined interval, is described. Changes in metal film morphology occurring as electrodeposition progresses are observed via SEM photographs. Graphite cloth which serves as a screen electrode for the deposition of the metal/alloy film, is pretreated to preserve its electrode characteristics for an unlimited period of time.
