Anti-HIV Activities and Application of Polysaccharide Compound

2004
Many polysaccharides derived from numerous species have been found to exert a potent inhibitory effect against HIV\|1 in vivo or in vitro. Polysaccharides can affect several steps of HIV replication and inhibit functions of several proteins,such as tat,gp120 and RT.At present,many polysaccharide compounds have been used as vaginal microbicide,antiretroviral drugs and immunomodulator in clinic.The anticoagulant activity and lesser bioavailability limit their usage.But the abundant polysaccharide derivatives possessed a pleiotropic mode of action still have broad perspective in AIDS therapy.;
