Histamine Receptor Assays

This unit describes three standard in vitro bioassays for studying histamine H1, H2 and H3 receptors in isolated intact tissues removed from the guinea pig. Both the H1 and H3 receptor assays are based on preparations of the ileum, whereas the spontaneously beating right atrium assay is used for the H2-receptor.
