Construction of an ultrasonic sight device for visually impaired people

Abstract Blindness is one of the major health problems faced by many people today. This health problem is due to some factors including aging, genetics, etc. Visually impaired people experience a lot of difficulties including the inability to move without an aid, and this makes them dependent and also makes them feel different from others. After rigorous research, we were able to construct a cost-effective ultrasonic sight device. The device has an ultrasonic sensor that measures the distance, and a buzzer that beeps when an obstacle is encountered. Availability of the proposed device in large quantities would eliminate the use of the conventional stick, which is heavy with less positive effect. The functionality of the proposed device would aid the visually impaired people in accessing things with ease, improving their quality of life.
