ESTABLISHMENT OF LITHUANIAN NATIONAL GRAVIMETRIC FIRST ORDER NETWORK

Abstract Activities on Lithuanian First Order Gravimetric Network establishment are described. Data and information on previous gravimetric activities concerning Lithuanian and homogeneous First Order Gravimetric Network projecting are presented. As reference points were selected points of absolute gravimetric observations. The Network consists of 51 gravimetric points. Observations were performed by three—six La Coste & Romberg gravimeters in 1998–2001. Calibration of gravimeters was performed between absolute gravimetric points in Lithuania and Poland. Errors of gravity acceleration changes determined between points are less than 5 μGal. Based on data of new gravimetric observations—accuracy of gravimetric map, scale 1:200 000, was evaluated as well as ties between gravimetric systems. The Network forms a precise reference for detailed gravity field investigations and other activities.
