Identifying and Mapping the Risk of Local Subsidence

This chapter proposes a new technique to deal with subsidence in urban areas. Subsidence in several urban areas of Mexico is regarded as being closely associated with urbanization in areas located in ancient depressions filled with lake and/or fluvial-lacustrine sediment (Farina et al. 2008).
