Anomalous muon Knight shift in diamagnetic Sb

1995
Abstract An anomalously large positive Knight shift observed in diamagnetic antimony by the positive muon ( K μ ) at low temperatures implies that the μ + , which can be considered as a light proton ( m μ ⋍ 1 9 m p ), causes a local paramagnetic center. By applying the muon spin resonance method we have found that this light interstitial occupies time sequentially two different sites, indicating that an additional mechanism is involved.
