Introduction: Contemporary Insights on Migration and Population Distribution

2016
The contributions in this Handbook examine and advance the state of knowledge with regard to migration and population distribution. In the twenty-first century, migration is playing a highly consequential role in population dynamics. Processes of globalization and internal economic development have prompted the redistribution of populations, both within and across nations. The Handbook brings together a worldwide group of scholars from several disciplines. Contributions are grouped under four topical areas: theory, methods and data, regional perspectives, and policy.
