Carcinicultura paraense: processamento e agregação de valor

This study aimed to evaluate implementation of shrimp processing industry as alternative to adding value. From January to August 2018, a gray shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei industry in Curuca and a fish manufactory in Castanhal, Para state, had their structure inspected. Interviews conducted to administrative staff to define location, product, structure layout and the productive capacity. Curuca – PA chosen as the location for the processing unit. The total area projected was 66.02 m². The product defined as pre-cooked and salted (weight over 10.0 g) and 150.0 kg daily production. The implementation cost estimated was R$150,300.00, the Total Operating Cost was R$798,966.40 and the Total Operating Cost per kg was R$40.97. The Internal Rate of Return was 122.0% and the Capital Return Period was 1.9 years. The shrimp processing industry in Curuca – PA proved to be profitable for a range of edible artisanal products.
