Oxygen trapping material

PURPOSE: To obtain the title material having excellent ability to trap oxygen at room temperature or below by mixing a transition metal compound with a specified polymer and a phosphorus compound. CONSTITUTION: The title material comprises at least one transition metal compound (e.g. cobalt stearate), at least one polymer of the formula [wherein R, is H, 1-10C alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or alkoxyl; R 2 and R 1 are each H, 1-10C alkyl, (substituted) aryl, -COOR 1 , -OCOR 1 , cyano or Cl; k≥1; m≥0; and n≥1] and at least one phosphorus compound (e.g. potassium phosphinate).
