How to Interpret Optic Disc in Myopes

The optic disc in myopia differs in its morphometry from a normal disc due to the presence of parapapillary changes. Myopia is an important risk factor for glaucoma. This chapter discusses in detail various morphometric characteristics that may help in the diagnosis and in understanding the progression of glaucoma. The importance of gamma zone, which is associated with changes in the shape of the optic nerve is highlighted.
