Analytical model of a bubble switch
2008
A model is described for a bubble‐domain switch constructed from a Y‐bar, in which the current through a conductor crossing the base leg of the Y determines whether a bubble passes from one arm to either (a) the base or (b) the opposing arm of the Y. Switching experiments were conducted with a rotating field, as well as with a static dc in‐plane field for ease in checking the theory. As expected, the current required for switching is found to increase linearly with in‐plane field amplitude.
