Discussion About Sexual Health: Is It Age Inappropriate?

The sexual problems of older adults need a proactive approach. Clinicians often hesitate to ask their older client about their sexual health, considering it to be a taboo subject in India. Even the patients think that it is not spiritually or religiously right to discuss or to involve in these issues. But if someone really complains, clinicians ignore the concern considering it as age inappropriate and irrelevant and of lesser or no value. It is important to know that sexuality is a basic human need. It affects quality of life and life satisfaction significantly in many older individuals.
