Effect of Chamaecrasta nictitans Cultivation Substrate C:N ratio on the Fatty Acid Content of Coprinus comatus Fruit Bodies

2007
Six fatty acids, myristic, palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic and tetracosanoic acid, were detected in fruit bodies of Coprinus comatus cultivated on Chamaecrasta nictitans substrates containing different C∶N ratios. Fruit bodies cultivated under all the C∶N regimes contained high levels of linoleic acid. However, the C∶N ratio had little effect on the levels of the different fatty acids except in the case of oleic acid where some variations were observed.
