Quale posto per i giovani nell'Esortazione "Vita Consecrata"?

1996
The Apostolic Exhortation «Vita Consecrata» that Pope John Paul II gave on March 25, 1996 closed the work of the consulting Synod of Bishops on the consecrated life begun in October 1994. This study is a review from youth's point of view and is seen as necessary while respectfully critical. Young people are the future of consecrated life, not to be seen as merely as young strength for old projects but as young consciences and abilities put to the use of perennial values. Unfortunately the young person is not taken into great consideration in this document, in fact they are rarely mentioned. Pastoral vocation itself is inspired more from the fear of being abandoned by youth than a sense of love as they are helped to search for a life project. The area of community life doesn't consider their lively presence. The brief, final call to young people can be seen as an essential part of a program that carefully attempts to utilize the spiritual energy and characteristics of the young for the present and the future of the consecrated life.
