Analysis of aerosol optical properties about global megacities

Using both satellite and ground based measurements, aerosol optical properties were analyzed together with their trends. East Asia shows the heavy pollution due to the aerosol emisision (anthropogenic source) and Asian dust(natural source). Europe and North america is relatively less polluted due to controls and regulation on pollution. From this study, we can separate the aerosol characteristics between megacity and rural site which provides basis to understand the radiative forcing of the megacities. This will be further investigated in future studies.
