Using Data Acquisition Systems for Time Period Measurements Based on Averaging Approaches

An approach for time and frequency measurements based on the use of data acquisition systems equipped with elementary processing capabilities is proposed. The bases of the proposal and its features that, in principle, allow measurements characterized by very fine resolution, are illustrated theoretically; preliminary results are finally given.
