EXAMINATION OF A COUNTER WITH 2$pi$ GEOMETRY IN A WIDE BETA-ENERGY RANGE

Characteristic data for a windowless G-M counter with a new measuring- gas mixture are described. In measurements of C/sup 14/ the influence of increasing activities on effectiveness, as well as the effect of the input sensitivity of scalers on the characteristics obtained, were tested. Results were compared with those of measurements carried out with BETA rays in the energy range from 0.15 to 1.7 Mev. Scattering effects of the newly constructed G- M counter were also studied.
