The teaching proposals under consideration originated as an instruction unit for traffic education, produced as a diploma study and carried out at the dortmund comprehensive school. The learning unit - it lasts for about three to five hours - is divided into two parts: part a = preparation in the classroom with the object of conveying to the student that it is necessary in road traffic to combine his senses, his understanding and his muscles (sensomotorics) and that he, as a road user, must always be ready to comprehend the actuality of a traffic situation. Part b = practical training in the school playground. Here the student should increase his sensomotorics by practical training in a safe environment, so that safety and skill in the control of the cycle is improved. The report describes the general consideration of teaching methods. Examples of applicable worksheets for students for the cycle training in the school playground, of the test sheet and of information letters to parents are appended. (TRRL)
