BLACK-START SCHEME USING SMALL THERMAL PLANT UNIT FOR DATONG POWER NETWORK

Hydroelectric unit is generally chosen as the black-start power supply in normal study of power network black-start scheme. But for many areas without hydropower, further research is necessary to choose the right black-start power supply. On the basis of the study of the black-start scheme for Datong power network, Guangling Power Plant, which has small thermal plant units, is selected as the black-start power supply. The black-start dispatch scheme and black-start procedure for Datong power network is established. The problems, which are worth attention and their solutions, such as the characteristic adjustment of power unit, overvoltage, active power balance, and ferromagnetic resonance, are discussed. It is proved that using small thermal plant unit as black-start power supply for regional power network of non-hydropower is an effective solution. It can also provide guidance to treat with power system blackout for all levels of dispatch and operation department of Datong power network.
