Effect of structure of nitrobenzoic acid on its extraction in ethylene propylene diene monomer membrane

2017
Using 3 kinds of nitrobenzoic acid with different substituent positions as research object, the effects of structure parameters, such as octanol/water partition coefficient, solubility, molar volume, molecular polarizability and dipole moment,on extraction of nitrobenzoic acid in ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM)membrane were studied. The experimental results show that:EPDM membrane has some effect on nitrobenzoic acid removal, the removal rate of o-,m-,p-nitrobenzoic acid is 27.1%,32.4% and 41.6%,respectively;The difference of substituent position causes the difference of nitrobenzoic acid removal effect, the stronger the hydrophobicity of nitrobenzoic acid is,the easier it can dissolve and penetrate in the EPDM membrane; The removal rate and transmission rate of nitrobenzoic acid are positively correlate to the octanol/water partition coefficient and molecular polarizability, while negatively correlate to its solubility; The removal rate of nitrobenzoic acid can be predicted by molecular polarizability and dipole moment.
