A simple transversely excited spectrophone
1979
Describes a new design of resonant spectrophone for the analysis of gaseous samples in which the authors have attempted to optimise the collection of the acoustic waves and the coupling between acoustic modes and the laser beam. They have thus reached a good sensitivity (below 5 parts in 109 for NO2) with a fixed-frequency laser and relatively simple and inexpensive components.
