Analysis of salt pond cluster in Arungkeke sub-district Jeneponto Regency

2019
Jeneponto Regency is one of the largest national salt production locations in South Sulawesi. One of them is located in Arungkeke Sub-district with a land area of 328.61 ha (21.62%), but salt pond activities in this area are still carried out traditionally, so that not all locations can produce and some produce less than 71 tons / ha with NaCl levels 97%). This research was conducted to analyse the area of salt ponds based on clusters on the similarities they have in managing salt ponds. The results showed that the total area mapped by 243.9 ha could be divided into 14 clusters / groups with a wide range of 10-30 ha / cluster. Each cluster is divided into bozem ponds, weeds and salt tables with a ratio of 5: 3: 2. The channel network system to be developed is divided into two primary channels, namely SPPA1, and SPPA2 and two secondary supply channels, namely SSPA1.1 and SSPA1.2. The filling of water into the ponds of each cluster can only be done using a pump with a water debit requirement ranging from 0.116 - 0.347 m3 / s. To achieve good salt quality, increasing the density value is carried out in stages, namely in bozem, hatchery and salt table are 4 - 11 °Be, 11-22 °Be and 22-30 °Be, respectively.
