'We’ll meet you underground': Transcultural performance practices in queer space and time

Company Bad’s landmark work Jiha Underground operates in a spatiotemporality which supports a queer dramaturgy where performers present and re-present themselves in multiple, fluid realities. This approach to “being in performance” foregrounds the “authentic” self, mirroring ways that queers periodically hide and reveal aspects of themselves in order to stay safe in the world.
