Helix—random coil transition in polyglutamic acid observed by perturbed angular correlations of gamma rays

Abstract The helix—random coil conformational transition in polyglutamic acid has been observed at pH = 4.0 and pH = 7.8 by measuring the perturbation factors for the 173–247 keV γ-ray cascade in 111 Cd. Rotational correlation times and quadrupole interaction parameters were determined.
