A CONSIDERATION OF THE ELECTROCHEMICAL MECHANISM IN THE CHLORINE EVOLUTION REACTION
1978
Abstract The catalytic activity for the anodic evolution of chlorine on the RuO 2 , IrO 2 and graphite electrodes were discussed on the basis of the activation energy. It was deduced that the activation energy seems to be a linear function of the energy difference between the conduction band of the solid and the energy level of the adsorbed intermediate Cl ads .
