Why the governance of projects, programs and portfolios (PPP) cannot be separated from the governance of IT standard

Due to a lack of governance, organizations suffer losses because of failure of projects and programs. ISO/IEC 21505 appears as a necessity to govern projects, programs and portfolios, apparently without alignment with ISO/IEC 38500, the de facto IT Governance standard. We have performed a harmonization process between both standards to identify overlapped issues and provide some coordination. As a result, by the matching table, we found that the ISO/IEC 21505 governance aspects are covered by ISO/IEC 38500 and those not covered are in fact managing activities.
