Synthesis, structure and sensing behavior of a Cd-coordination polymer based on 1,10-phenanthroline and 2-aminoterephthalic acid

2018
The reaction of 2-aminoterephthalic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline with Cd(NO3)2⋅4H2O under solvothermal conditions leads to the formation of [Cd(2-aip)(phen)]⋅0.5C2H5OH ( 1). In the compound, dimetallic cluster [Cd2(COO)4] exists and is linked by 2-aip ligands to stretch into a 2D flat layer. These layers are lined parallel to each other via N–H⋅⋅⋅OCO hydrogen bond interactions, generating a 3D supramolecular architecture. The sensing property has been investigated. The experimental results show that the compound can be used as a luminescent probe to detect Co2+ and organic small molecules acetone.
