Application of image and video analysis in monitor system of power equipment

Several intelligent methods were proposed to ensure the normal operation of power systems.These methods were achieved by means of image processing and pattern recognition,such as edge detection,feature extraction,object tracking and so on.Through these methods,abnormal situations,such as vehicals intrusion,line galloping,line icing,and so on,could be alarmed automatically.The experiment results indicate that these power system monitoring methods can now partially or completely replace manual inspection.
