Abstract. CAD software for developing geometric models of machines and processes in construction has been analyzed with the methods of geometric modelling and computer simulation. Based on this analysis, issues of teaching students how to create optimal designs and conduct computerized experi-ments as to determining critical operating modes as well as improving motion paths and control modes have been considered.
