Improvement of power electronics education with an interactive electronic book based on Mathcad

2005
This paper presents a method of Power Electronics teaching for undergraduate students with interactive electronic books based on Mathcad. The interactive book has the same appearance than "classical" books combining analytical expressions and graphical results with text explanations. However, it provides the important capability of interactive variation of circuit parameters in order to analyze the effect on electrical variables. This approach does not only help teachers for classroom lectures but also provides the possibility of more in-depth self-study of students after the classes. In addition, this approach introduces undergraduate students to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools that are widely used in application design and analysis at enterprises and universities.
