Research of vehicle license plate recognition based on OpenCV

Vehicle license plate recognition system is a specified computer vision system on license plate and an important part of the intelligent traffic system.This paper introduces a method of vehicle license plate recognition in a complex background based on Visual C++ and a Intel open source computer vision library OpenCV.The method adopts the way of space domain filtering and morphological processing to locate the license plate,rectifies the beveled plate using a combination of frequency domain and space domain analysis and geometric rectification,and achieves license number recognition by character segmentation and matching.The method has been implemented on Visual C ++ on beveled plate and turnod out to be efficient and accurate.
