THE AGORA APPROACH FOR MAP-BASED ON-THE-FLY LOCATION REFERENCING

2002
Location referencing is a traffic telematics technology to reference real-world objects (locations) between different systems (provider, end user) in a machine-readable way. A first step for an 'on the fly' approach to location referencing for map-based systems (on both ends of the service chain) was developed and tested. Three input methods, the extended ILOC approach, the Siemens VDO Pivot Point Approach and the Bosch Good-Lane approach are described, followed by the resultant AGORA location referencing method. For the covering abstract see ITRD E122427.
