An efficient privacy protection solution for smart home application platform

Smart home application platform has been widely implemented in Internet of things (IoT), such as high-grade hotels smart home, which exacerbates the risk of privacy leakage. The current solution only verifies the identity of the controller without verifying the identity of the user. This solution may have a risk of leakage of user's privacy. In this paper, we proposes a new solution using public key cryptography to solve this weaknesses. It uses a self-built CA to provide digital certificate to each user and smart home controller, and uses the SSL mutual authentication to verify the identity of user and smart home controller. The experimental result shows that the proposed solution in this paper has greatly improved the security of the smart home application platform, and the impact of this solution on response time is very small.
