The Role of Information Technology in Enhancing Partnerships of Manager - Employee

Information technology has changed today's organizations environment and the present time organizations use the new technologies more than any other period. Using of this technologies have undeniable impacts on the organization's structure and processes, as one of the effects of applying information technology is to transform the interactive processes in organizations which is manifested clearly in the interaction between managers and employees. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of information technology in promoting the participation of managers and employees. The model the research discusses dimensions of manager - employee partnership and the role of information technology in promoting this partnership. This study is a descriptive one. The population of this research is formed of the directors and employees of the 22 branches of Tehran municipality and a sample of 384 members is randomly selected from among them. The data collection tool is questionnaire and inferential statistical techniques are used to analyze the data. To investigate the hypothesis of research, the one-sample t-test and Binomial test are used. Finally, the research main hypothesis and sub-hypotheses of the significant relationship between partnership of manager - employee and utilization of IT were confirmed.
