A Logging-Petrophysical Research Method by Combining Logging with Seismic Data

2014
To determine whether the result of seismic inversion is accurate or not, it is vital how we obtain the data of density, compressional velocity velocity and shear velocity under the original reservoir conditions. However, restricted by the measuring depth of logging, the currently acquired measured values are basically the response features of the flushed zones and invaded zones instead of the logging response values of the original reservoirs. Therefore it is extremely necessary to carry out the logging-petrophysical research oriented to seismic inversion. Taking the multiple horizons in different regions of Junggar Basin as the research subject, based on large quantities of petrophysical experiments, the logging-petrophysical research method and procedure have been established by combining the logging with seismic methods. The authors presented a forward modeling method of matching the S-wave by section and by lithology, and established the acoustic fluid replacing model of compressional velocity moveout enhancement ratio versus water saturation, which greatly increased the accuracy of prediction by S-wave. Meanwhile, in comparison with the current fluid replacing models applied at home and abroad, the new fluid replacing model is simpler and more practical, with high operability. The results of research have been applied in oil and gas exploration of conventional sandstone reservoirs, tight sandstone reservoirs, volcanic rock reservoirs under different geologic conditions, and desirable effect has been achieved.
