Simultaneous determination of cerium-141 and cerium-144 in fission product mixtures

Abstract A method was developed to determine the isotopic ratio and the disintegration rates of Ce 141 and Ce 144 in the presence of each other, by γ pulse-height analysis. The method was based on the relationship between the composition of the mixture and the integrated peak ratio of γ- and X-ray peaks. The effects of various counting conditions were examined. The usefulness of the method was exemplified by application to the simultaneous determination of Ce 141 and Ce 144 in fission product mixtures.
