Effects of substitution for Cu in La1.82Sr0.18Cu1−yMyO4 (M=Co, Ni, Ga, Zn)

Abstract We have measured normal state susceptibility of La 1.82 Sr 0.18 Cu 1−y M y O 4 . We found that doping with non-magnetic ions, e.g. Zn 2+ , Ga 3+ , had an effect of lowering the temperature where X−T curve exhibits a broad peak. The peak temperature varied depending on whether the dopants at Cu site were magnetic of non-magnetic, while the behavior of T c has little dependence on the sort of dopants.
