AVALIAÇÃO DOS MÉTODOS DE EXTRAÇÃO DE BENZO(A)PIRENO EM AMOSTRAS DE ÁGUA POR CLAE/FLU COM REDUÇÃO DE SOLVENTES EVALUATION OF EXTRACTION METHODS OF BENZO(A)PYRENE IN WATER SAMPLES BY HPLC/FLU WITH REDUCTION OF SOLVENT

2012
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a group of over 100 different chemicals that are formed during the incomplete burning of coal, oil and gas, garbage or other organic substances. Due the toxicity potential, especially of the benzo[a]pyrene, this is associated with the cause of the several cancers by its ability to cause gene mutation. Analyzed the extraction methods (liquid phase extraction and solid phase extraction) using high performance chromatography with fluorescence in water samples contaminated for benzo[a]pyrene, and to evaluate if the reduction of the volume of solvent affects the efficiency of the technique of Liquid-Liquid Extraction (LLE). The results showed a good answer for both methods, but the ELL is suitable for samples with higher concentrations of particulate matter, and that, even halving the amount of solvent used, there was no significant change in result.
