The review analyzes the literature data on the biotransformation of xenobitics by the microbiota of the human gastrointestinal tract. The main enzymes involved in biotransformation are presented. The role of biotransformation of microbiota enzymes in the activation and inhibition of drugs, detoxification and intoxication of foreign compounds and heavy metals is shown.
