Oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes with bromoisobutyrate and dimethyl sulfoxide

Abstract We have developed an efficient oxidation of primary alcohols to aldehydes with ethyl bromoisobutyrate and dimethyl sulfoxide. Diaryl ketone can also be prepared under this reaction system.
