Schwermetallbelastung auf Spielplätzen im Stadtgebiet von Rostock

Today we have not sufficient informations about heavy metal pollutions on playgrounds in the urban area of Rostock. Because of that the contents of lead, cadmium, chromium, nickel, mercury, copper and zinc of 29 playgrounds were tested in 1994-1998. In the topsoils (0-35 cm) lower contents of heavy metals were found than in the subsoils (35-80 cm). The contamination of playing sand was small without exeption. The threshold values for heavy metals in playgrounds are not achieved in any case.
