On Sun Yirang's Attitude to Chinese and Western Learning

Sun Yirang,the famous Confucian in Qing Dynasty,is one of the "Three Masters of Late Qing Dynasty",the other two being YU Yue and Huang Yizhou.In the highly volatile situation of late Qing Dynasty,Yao devoted himself to education and gained insight into China's cultural development.A thorough investigation of his academic and teaching practice will help us better understand his basic attitude to Chinese and Western learning as well as the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese traditional culture when facing powerful exotic culture.
