Float a lotus

2015
'Float a Lotus' is a participatory event, hosted by Chelsea Fringe 2015, that is part of the Gardens of Consciousness series (see www.gardensofconsciousness.com). The project recognises the role of the lotus flower in various faiths, as a symbol of enlightenment, healing and spiritual transcendence. Participants are invited to download an image of the flower (in red, blue, white or gold; each with a particular quality), attach to it a written hope, thought or prayer, then place it in water at a chosen public site. Locations range from the Diana Memorial Fountain to local taverns. These mini-installations act as 'tirtha' or shallow crossings for those that come across them, acting as sites for meditation and elevation of consciousness.
