OUTLINE OF SHIN KANSEN HAKATA ROLLING STOCK MAINTENANCE BASE

The Shin Kansen was extended to Hakata in March 1975, and the total Shin Kansen fleet now numbers 2,128 electric cars. The Hakata base now functions as a conventional combined workshop and operations depot under a unified management. It is the most modern on JNR and has been playing a vital role on Shin Kansen.
