Structure Studies on Metal-Serum Albumin(IX)──A Novel Hypochromic Effect in Ni(II)-HSA and Ni(II)-BSA

The data of the ultra-violet spectra and the equilibrium dialysis prove that both 1:1 systems of Ni(Ⅱ)-HSA and Ni(Ⅱ)-BSA have two strong coupling metal-centers with their LMCT bands showing a novel hypochromic effect.This effect is in consistent with the mechanism of dipole-dipole interaction between the electric dipole transition moments of chromophores.
