In a method (100) for manufacturing a solar cell are formed in a solar cell substrate having the basic doping of a first conductivity type through holes (102). Further, be heavily doped with a second conductivity type opposite to predetermined surface areas of a first surface of the solar cell substrate, which include at least a portion of the through holes; and simultaneously or subsequently other surface areas of the first surface with the second conductivity type are low doped (104). Subsequently, first metal contacts are at least in a part of the predetermined areas in at least a part of the through holes and in first areas of a second surface of the solar cell substrate, which is opposite to the first surface of the solar cell substrate, formed (106); and second metallic contacts are formed in second regions on the second surface such that the second metallic contacts of the first metal contacts are electrically isolated (108).
