Evaluation of the influence of cutting parameters on surface deformation during a milling process.

2015
In this work the influence of cutting parameters was evaluated over a shoulder milling process on surface deformation in a steel AISI 1018. Twenty-seven (27) machining conditions were studied possible combinations defined by establishing three di erent values cutting speed and depth of cut and feed. Studied for each condition metallographic preparation it possible to observe and quantify the distorted material thickness by machining and then by analysis of variance was possible to establish the degree of contribution of each parameter on the thickness of material was deformed. Parameter was determined that less significance is the feed and that the greatest contribution is achieved with the combination of the three parameters.
